Has anyone had one of these expire before they could use it? Supposedly the code is only good for a year after purchase.

Great deal, but passing this time.

My subscription ends May 2026. Hoping it comes back so I can pick up the next one.

I'm curious about this as well. I've heard one year too but I've never been clear on when the 1 year timer starts. At purchase or when the code was created.

Does anyone have a good method for detailed performance tracking/ trade input with Fidelity?

I know there is some software to convert csv but haven't been able to make it work

This is the reality of the subscription model.
I purchased and was still running Quicken 2016 on my PC until I switched to a Mac. I have no use for all the cloud based functionality and never did any account downloading or price updates.

Yeah, i use it to track 20+ accounts, plus random stocks, run quick reports about P+L, budgets, many uses. I can also search transactions from multiple cards. Like everyone else in this boat, we all hate the sub model when we used to just renew for a feature we really wanted. There hasnt been any new great features in years.

Issue is also that there is no decent competition in this space

Beware of ordering this too early because you won't know how many months are left before it expires. I got burnt this way last year.

Does Quicken allow you to enter the new activation code and they just extend your subscription another year?

I redeemed a new activation code this way, but it was just a few months before my subscription was going to expire. Not sure what will happen if I try it when my subscription expiration date is over a year out.

I let mine expire and other than the annoying occasional "your subscription has expired please renew) I can still use it offline for everything I need - which is primarily a very expansive glorified checkbook for about 40 accounts

I was under the impression that after the sub expires there is a permanent reminder that takes up like 20% of the application display real estate. That's not true? It's only an occasional pop up reminder?

Mine is persistent every day after renewal. A bar at the top and in the right margin. Super annoying but still not enough to pay to get rid of it.

I let my subscription expire too and then, somehow, my copy auto-updated and would no longer work. It was a nightmare to manually download to an older version that would still work...

I've used Quickbooks Pro 2012 since, well, 2012. I don't do any of the online linking of accounts and aside from the occasional (and sometimes often) nag screens about upgrading it has continued to work.

However, I recently switched to GnuCash, which is open source and free. So far, I'm quite pleased with it. It has all the functionality I need and none of the cost.
