Only the bottom is metal.
I own this Lisen stand, it does work pretty good and I'm using a Samsung Tab S9 Ultra which is 14.6 inches. The M4 iPad is a little bit lighter so I'm sure it'll be fine. The piece where you put the tablet on has a rubberized non-slip texture that holds the tablet well, the only thing I will say is the base could be more weighted I guess. Or if you're on an unstable surface like a bed or airplane flight it could be unstable but that's just common sense i'd assume lol. On a flat surface, it works great and it folds down so it's pretty portable which I like a lot. And you can adjust the height which is pretty useful, it can get pretty high and I haven't had problems with that so far. You just need to put the tablet on with the right tilt for a peace of mind, my Tab S9 Ultra is a wide boy but it fits with no issues, the rubber non slip holding piece works great. I've had it only for a few months but I use it weekly and haven't had anything loosen up or anything, it's super stiff when you get it so I'm not sure if it'll loosen up over a year, no problems so far with mines. The only thing is if you can get magnetic stand for just a bit more that's the only thing I'd prefer more but with a magnetic stand only works for your specific tablet and it could interfere with the Apple Pencil/Samsung SPen. At least with this stand you could put any phone, tablet or monitor on with no problems. For under $10 it's a great buy.
if you don't even use it daily anymore, why in the world would you order a second stand?

Great price. Just ordered my 2nd stand. Bought it back in Aug. 2023. Paid $14 and loved it. Stopped using as EDC due to weight/folded size. Found a low-profile plastic compact book reader stand that works better for me. While taking a fresh look at the reviews, one mentioned it supporting a 15.6 in screen. I didn't believe it till I tried it myself. Earlier this year, I bought a 15.6" Arozopa portable monitor, with a combination magnetic cover/stand. I pulled out the stand and the monitor supports it well enough for me to make a new purchase at a great price. Thx for the post, repped.

Listing says base is aluminum, but I can't find a description of the top part or lift. I bought it to check it out.

All the one star review kept me from buying it. I would use it on my 13 inch ipad, so I would not risk it. All the one star reviews said it is not sturdy enough and it's the plastic part that holds your tablet up. Big screen, be aware.

I use this daily. It's very sturdy and hinges are strong. Height can extend higher than more expensive metal stands.

Only issue is the lips are very short so be careful if using a device with a case. I use two binder clips to extend it

I would buy another esp at this price if I didn't already have two

Use it on the plane. It hooks into that slot with the safety instructions.

Looks like it would block the vents on something like the Legion Go.

Bought one a couple of weeks ago for $1 more. I like it. Holds my Samsung Tab 10 Ultra just fine.

Not going to bother with returning for a dollar.
