Yeah definitely better functionality wise compared to the old road plates but also much more expensive to build out a city.

You used to get two old baseplates for $15. That we 20 inches of road. You get 22.5 inches of road with this set, PLUS the ramps make it even more. SO I'm really confused by your comment.

With the old plates you got a 32x32 for $8 without a sale. This is far smaller for the same cost.

Are you talking about 30 years ago when baseplates were $10 for two?

When baseplate roadplates were retired they were $15 for 20 inches of road. This gives you more road.

I don't know what your deal is. You claimed "didn't know these existed" yet are now arguing with me on the specifics.
The "facts" that you state are bogus. The 32x32 road plates were $8 MSRP when they were retired 3 years ago, not 30. Read some professional reviews comparing the two when the new road plates were introduced:

Maybe you want to look at your own link where it shows road plates were $15 for two, like I said. But please keep talking.

That's two 32x32, which far larger. From the review: "which works out to 3.6 studs per dollar, which is definitely pricier"
