Pretty good price for a high end card with 24GB of VRAM. Sapphire Nitro cards are the best AMD cards in my opinion.

Key Features:

- Die-cast aluminum-magnesium alloy construction surrounding the sides of the PCB helps strengthen the structural rigidity of the cover to create a strong, scratch-resistant and high-quality finish that elevates the aesthetics and strength of the graphics card
- Composite heatpipes are adjusted for each individual cooling design with optimal heat flow, efficiently and evenly distributing heat throughout the cooling module.
- Angular speed fan blade provides a double layer of downward air pressure which, coupled with the air pressure on the fan's outer ring, results in up to 44% more downward air pressure and up to 19% more airflow for quieter, cooler operation when compared to previous generations.
- Dedicated VRM cooling module to create optimal heat dissipation for maximum airflow and cooling performance
Shipping Note: Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is not available for this item. A physical address is required for delivery. No Military or PO Box shipments available.
Warranty: 90 Day Woot Limited Warranty

Is this a good deal because of tarrifs or something? Maybe I'm microcenter pampered, but I swear its been lower than this online.

They were and then deepseek r1 happened. Deepseek means local AI is no longer confined to $2k Nvidia GPUs so the 7900xtx and its 24gb of vram makes it a great entry point for home AI at "only" $1k. I use an xtx and xt and am able to run deepseek r1 70g with 4K quants at Medium (40GB of VRAM needed).

Using the search function on SD shows these cards were ~$800 for "deals". So you are absolutely correct that it has been lower.

First Crypto and now AI
PC gaming is going to be absolutely unaffordable for a lot of people soon.

Not if you play at 720p/1080p. A $400 mini PC can handle "PC gaming".

what does "at home AI" consist of? What are you using it for exactly?

That was then. Now it's hard to find any high end GPU at all, much less at a reasonable price.

when gaming became a luxury.

but i do question why buy this when you could buy the 9070 series. yes it is a bit faster, but at what cost for that marginal gains? yes it has 24G or ram, but are you really doing AI/ML training and modeling on AMD cards?

This is not a deal. This card should be at least 700 by now. 999 price tag was when the card first hit the market 2 years ago

How many tokens per second do you get with your 7900XTX 24GB?
