This thing burns through batteries because it's brushed. Gets too hot… pass.
I believe this is one of DeWalt's most basic 20v angle grinder and it is brushed. I was holding out for a DCG415/416 but at this price point, I'm going to pull the trigger.

Hmm. Been a while since I've bough a brushed cordless too. I'd normally avoid it, but I also haven't quite been able to justify buying an angle grinder yet and this is a mighty low price point...

Anyone care to try to sway me one way or the other? Standard weekend warrior type homeowner who likes to DIY.

exact same. ordered and then cancelled. i have a m12 cutoff tool, never needed a grinder yet. while I don't use them often, I like to buy quality tools (unless its something I'd hardly ever use, which this is probably, that's why I was tempted)

Still too expensive for brushed version. Just bought HF angle grinder (Hercules) on sale, it was like $40 bucks and it was great.

I just bought it for $54, I got a $15 stock up discount. If you see the same discount, this is hard to pass up at $54.

I've never seen a stock up discount. I looked it up and it seems it's usually offered for consumables. Is there a trick to get it to trigger for this angle grinder?

Says right on the product page, this is a brushless motor and requires no brush changes.

I recently bought a brushless model on a deal during the holidays.
I put it off for so long because I had a cheap $20 harbor freight corded model that still works great after 20 years. And honestly I don't use it much. Hard to justify to spend...until I just splurged.

I have used it on one project, grinding down some stucco edges after window installs. I'm telling you, the convenience of being cordless and having a trigger instead of toggle switch was well worth it.

Could I have lived without it? Absolutely. Would I want to? No.

I could have dealt with this one being brushed for my home use for the price.
