For the new Everstart I added the electrolyte and followed the activation instructions to the letter only to see it vent a little (bulged the vent cap up) and have trouble even getting to 12v. I used the same Schumacher charger I used to activate the Duralast a decade earlier. I still use that charger regularly as a battery maintainer so I know it works fine. It's just that the Everstart motorcycle battery was a piece of junk.
I wish mine had a warranty but them's the breaks with salvage store goods. If you get one, be ready to test and claim warranty.

THey work. Batteries aren't necessarily designed to only be sufficient to crank the motor but instead be able to have lights on for emergency purposes for an extended amount of time... or crank the motor some crazy amount of time. So a smaller capacity battery will still crank our bikes up plenty more than we need when it's functioning right. and when the bike or battery isnt' functioning right, the extra battery isn't going to fix the problem. So no real need to buy the extra battery capacity. I usually spend about $20 to $23 on battery. Sometimes i'll buy 2 or 3 if that makes a discount and list them for sale on market place. Save a few bucks. Make a few bucks. meet some fellow riders. Take a spare battery or two to bike week and list them there or have a spare for your own bike. Having a spare at bikeweek is a good thing. Having no ride-able bike at bw is a bad thing lol
Oh yea, always turn your bike off with your key, so your headlight turns off too to not drain your battery. Using kill switch and forgetting causes problems. and with any motorcycle battery, keep it hooked to a tender over the winter.
