Great bike especially for the money. I bought one 2 years ago for around 200. For 130, I bought another one today. Great starter bike to mod and make upgrades to.

Stupid question, but is this a bike you ride bent down like in a race, or is it comfortable to sit up and ride

This is a bent over style not upright cruiser as it comes.

Giordano and associated ilk like Eurobike are a complete waste of money. You will be much better off buying a used bike from a better brand like Trek, Cannondale, Bianchi, etc. If they don't list Shimano, SRAM, or Campagnolo and the name of the drivetrain (Claris, Red, Ultegra, Centaur, etc.) I would stay away. Parts are more easily accessible if you want to upgrade and the ride will be significantly better by leaps and bounds. Source: i had a Giordano as a broke college student for 6 months and I traded it for an 80s Ross bike - average speed went from 12 to 15mph overnight on the same exact routes.
The drive train brand/model is listed on the manufacturer website.

FWIW, I'm a big proponent of getting a used ~$200-300 bike over a new department store bike, but these $700ish msrp bikes are typically half decent if they come with branded hardware (as you pointed out). At this price, I picked one up for a friend that has a $200ish msrp department store bike. I've been looking for a used bike for her, but the used bike market in my area isn't great.

At $120, this will blow any used bike out of the water.

While your sentiment is right, it makes no sense when you consider the price of buying this new (even with basement level components) vs all else.

Economics is a wonderful thing when there is a product and price for many entry points to consumers. Not everyone is going to go shopping for Ultregra parts just because.

It's bent over style but if you're looking for the more upright position with straight handlebars then they also have this one (sizes small - medium)

Except I don't think the sentiment is right. Most of the bikes in this range (including the ones from Walmart) use parts that are interchangeable with parts that are easily accessible and upgradeable. You don't have to buy the exact same model for the replacement, it just has to be the same gear range and pull ratio if discussing the derailleur/shifters. These types of bikes are actually quite popular with people that like to mod and upgrade - Because parts are easy to get. There are multiple YouTube channels that focus on "department store" bikes for reviews and upgrades.

Whomever is responsible at Mendham for not listing the higher quality brand name components should find a new job because these are real selling points. Most buyers especially at this level won't seek out the manufacturer site for additional details.

Looking for a bike to test out for long rides / endurance type before purchasing a more expensive bike. Main use road/bike path longer rides. I purchased a framed rendal during a previous SD and that has been great for riding with the kids to parks etc.

Im 5'8" and considering this one or the kent 700c Kent Nazz Gravel Road Bike from walmart at $151..Which one would be a better option

At this price could I spend money to turn it into an upright bike, or no?

Wow, 119 bucks is an absolute steal. I purchased one years ago when it was on sale and have been enjoying it since. One word of advice is to avoid the small size frame if you are too tall for it, it can cause discomfort in the knees after time.
