Agreed, the old reviews are way better than the recent ones. They most likely were paid to buy and leave 5 star reviews.
Example , a review from 03/24/2025

These things are cheap and absolutely worthless. The only reason why I even gave it one star was just to write this review and warn others. The batteries get extremely hot within seconds of using them almost to an unsafe level. They also die within a minute or so. Maybe I got defective ones... But even then I would urge caution"

My wife participated in something like this before. Ordered a projector and someone paid her the full price of it so she can leave a 5 star review. It was junk.
Most 3rd party packs are garbage, but I've had great results over several years using PDP Gaming METAVOLT dual chargers. Own several now and they're fantastic. They're officially licensed by Microsoft, currently on sale at GameStop too. Only downside is you can't use matching battery covers for many controllers, it's black or white only.
