Does anyone own this? Anyone have any comments about the BBQ quality and/or differences to cooking with gas?

I own one, I also own a propane grill. They are not substitutes. This is a wood pellet smoker zero comparison when it comes to bbq. Just like I wouldn't cook a burger on the smoker expecting the same outcome as the gas grill.

They make smokers that also have a grilling component to them, an area with a heavy flame like you'd get on a normal grill, if that's what you're looking for. This model lists that it's a combo grill but I do not believe it is realistically anything but a smoker?
Side note not sure how good of a deal this is, I feel like it's been priced similarly at HD for months

I've owned this grill for a few years, use it for both grilling and smoking. I love it and I could not be happier with the cook quality, only complaint is that it gets dirty quick and requires somewhat regular ash removal

I have had this smoker for years. After a few minor mods (sealing up the lid so that less smoke gets out) and some accessories, it has been rock solid. Occasionally will have it go off because I did not clean out the grill prior to smoking, but the results have been fantastic. It has pretty wild temperature swings but the food comes out wonderful.

Anyone using this in higher elevation. Moving to Colorado Springs and a friend said don't get anything but a Yoder for Colorado.. that is 10x more expensive than this any thoughts would be great.
