Verizon Prepaid has a deal where the iPhone 14 Plus (256 GB model) is discounted to $249.99, if an Unlimited plan is added ($60 for Unlimited, $70 for Unlimited Ultimate, cost of the first month). Plus taxes and fees on the phone as well as the plan. A variety of colors are available. It doesn't appear to require a port-in.
Additionally, the 512 GB model is available for $50 more.
Other details about the plans:
- Autopay is $10 off per month, but is not available in the first month.
- More than one Unlimited phone line on the same account will result in a plan discount of $20
- You can also get another $20/month credits for up to 10 months of subsequent service, which is reported to start 1-2 months after activation. However, this post is more about the device deal, as the service deal is all right, but also not that great. However, with multiple lines on the same account, it may be reasonably competitive.
Current Verizon device unlock policy is 60 days after activation.

I had a 16 plus from them and it required 60 days paid to unlock.
Add at least a $60 plan and you should see the discounted price in your cart.
Also. embracing for the time machine jokes, I still think 16e 128gb at $299 for the phone, was a better deal and might come back - far superior processor, 8gb ram, Apple AI support, longer os update support etc. These far outweigh the potential advantages from 14 plus - 256gb, dual camera, magsafe, larger screen size etc for me.
Not true for everyone/every use case, agreed. YMMV

Kind of weird, since their unlocking policy just states after "activation" 60 days later it will unlock and nothing about paid service 60 days straight

Yeah, the policy changes since April 1st has caused a lot of confusion. I purchased the 16e precisely on April 1 and despite the policy changes being published after I bought and they are not the same for Verizon prepaid as for mnvos, I am still going to recharge another month for my 16e, given it will need me to pay ($60 - $25 monthly discount on 16e deal - $10 from auto pay = $25) only. If I don't pay for the 2nd month and Verizon refuses to unlock in lack of 60 days of service, then worst case, I will have to pay for another consecutive 60 days at a much higher rate since I will loose the $25 discount. So, for $25+tax more, I am willing to pay to avoid any such risk.
YMMV
