Yeah thats the problem with all of these sets on sale recently. Theyre super attractive, but the lack of 4k makes it pointless.

There's maybe 3 movies here that I don't have that I want, so this won't work for me.

If they are movies anywhere compatible, doesn't the "apple" trick make them 4K?

I believe that only applies if you buy them through the Apple store or on AppleTV.

I've bought movies that weren't from Apple, and it was upgraded. It was only upgraded in Apple, and everywhere else was HD. Not sure how these bundle work though. But don't quote me on this...

You have to purchase at Apple or redeem an HD code at Apple (or 4k code) for free 4k upgrades from Apple.

You'll get 4k if they have it at the time of redemption, and it'll port out via MoviesAnywhere. BUT if it upgrades later to 4k, you'll get the upgrade to 4k at Apple, but it won't report back out to Movies Anywhere.

Apple already upgraded the ones that were available in 4K for me. The 4K upgrades aren't showing up in MA or Fandango (yet?), but they are in Apple+.

Yes, the fanflix deals for this and the action pack provided a mix of 4Ks and HD. I considered those great deals. $25 for 25 HD movies isn't a bad deal, it's just not that attractive when Fanflix may have it for that price again, probably around Halloween.
