I get the error "Unfortunately, you are not allowed to purchase a specific game in your basket." when trying to check out.

I checked with the Global Mods and they said it's not an issue for them, so not sure why you're getting that error. Maybe try different browser, different payment methods, checking out with mobile device, clearing cache/cookies of the GMG site, etc. Might need to trial and error if it doesn't work.
