This TV has a rting of 5.7 on rtings.com. Looks like a terrible TV with horrible black levels.

Keep in mind that Rtings reviewed the 75" model that uses an IPS Panel (low contrast, poor black levels, wider viewing angle). This 85" model uses a VA Panel (higher native contrast, better black levels, narrower viewing angle). Since Rtings' review criteria favor VA Panel characteristics, this 85" model will rate more favorably than that review suggests.

walmart had the x90L ?? i think was the model number, but that 85 inch tv is this but with multiple local dimming zones, brighter (think 900 nits), and it can run at 120hz and i believe full hdmi 2.1 spec

it was on sale for 1500, about 5-6 years ago... actually hmm.. f,g,h,i,j,k,l holy crap 7 or 8 years ago that was roughly the going rate for the 65 inch variant

(sony stayed pretty consistent with releasing same number of new models per year / basically the number stayed the same and then they went up the alphabet... i have the f variant / the g or h was when they did 4k 120hz mine does 60hz) the model numbers are now like bravia 3, 7, 8, 9 --- 9 is mini led, 8 is oled, 7 is basically what x9 series used to be while 3 is probably closer to the 6-7-800 variants that were the lower end models -- 800 was medium i think 600 used to be the low end sony's

still, use case is dependent on the purchaser / always believe that if you are the one buying the product and using it 90+ percent of the time and you like the performance/picture then the only thing that really matters is price

for 1500 you could get a better tv, same upscaler/chip but is the 500 dollars worth the extras that you would get --- in my personal experience anyone should be happy with a x900 / bravia 7 line of television from the past few years unless you prefer the ultimate blacks of oleds

That $650 Walmart one is a good tv, but does not do upscaling well at all. If you plan to feed it a 4K signal, you'll be all good. Anything less than that, you'll see a lot of pixelation/macro-blocking. I returned it and got the X90CL from Costco. Was $600 more, but worth every penny, included a 5 year warranty as well.
