Your credit card will be charged the full remaining dollar amount over your points redemption; for example, if you choose to buy Apple merchandise at $120 at $1.50 redemption value (50% bonus), and you use 4,000 points ($40 worth of points w/ 50% bonus = $60), your credit card would be billed for the remaining $60.

Only if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve...the percent is determined by the type of card you have.
even with this discount you're only getting 1.5 cents per point - not a good deal
Considering you can regularly get apple gift card with 10% discount and you can use your point for 1.5 cent any time to book flight, I would say buying apple produce is only valued at 1.35. you can book flight to make it 1.5 value. Of course, it's even better for Hyatt. For example, for a cateory 1 , you can use 5000 points to book one night while the cash price could be 150 and also point reservation are refundable most time. I would value Hyatt point at 2.2 at least

I have a reserve. Must be some other factor in play for specific reserve accounts.
Hmm...I canceled my reserve earlier this year; it has been 50% historically for the reserve, but possibly not now. That would be unfortunate. I can change the title if someone else with a reserve can confirm as well.
