I realize "nobody can know" is the real answer to that question, but for the sake of discussion (and to help me decide if a pre-built is just worth it because they got some of these card) please throw some thoughts out there. Trying to get my son a graduation present; we built the last one but it was pre-Covid and only 1060 super
thanks
what search terms would you use for a Slickdeals alert to get hits like this and GPU alerts?

I ended up going with a pre-built Alienware with an i9 and 4090 GPU. Gamer's Nexus had a positive review of Dell's 4090 and with closeout prices/additional coupons, it would've been impossible to build something that cheap with those components.
If you do go prebuilt, research the components and see what's upgradeable. I knew Alienwares were some of the worst in terms of upgradability which is why I got the i9 and 4090. Hopefully, knock on wood, I won't have to upgrade for many years.
