Are people happy with this unit? I missed this deal last time and need a replacement 18 ga but I'm wandering if I should just put the money towards an 18v nailer

I got this the last time around and I've been happy with it. I don't use it a ton but when I do I just run it with a little pancake 3 gallon compressor and it is fine. No complaints. I'd buy it again for sure.

I have the Hitachi version of this before they rebranded it and it's been rock solid. Ive only piled in once in 8+ years and that was after I accidentally left it out in the rain. Thousands of brads, only a handful of misfires that were probably caused by cheap nails.

If you already have a compressor, this is better than battery powered for big projects or when you're up on a ladder. Lighter and faster.

That is a decent deal. Threw in a small pack of nails to get over the limit for FS. Thanks OP.

Does this require a separate compressor?

I grabbed a Metabo pneumatic framing nailer about 2 years ago…rode it hard and it's never failed me. In for one of these!

My brad nailer just keeled over recently and I've been looking for a replacement -- however, it also shot 1/4" crown staples which was handy for light fencing. This doesn't appear to do staples.
For $5 more, a WEN unit that does both is available at Amazon if anyone needs that functionality:

It requires a compressor. And an air hose if you don't have one or a compressor.

Bought one of these at around this price on sale for a project around the house, worked very well. Didn't jam a single time. I did however grabbed a box that somehow had a very very dirty and heavily abused nailer inside that someone must have fraudulently swapped and returned, had to take it back and grab another box. They were really good about returning it. Make sure to check it before you check out as none of these boxes appear to be sealed up on any way.

I also bought one the last time it was cheap. Used it twice so far. Had no issues with it at all. If you think you're going to use it often, you might want to go with one that uses the battery.

I bought one of these a few years ago when it was under the Hitachi name, same style and interchangeable parts, great stuff, the Hitachi tool rebrand to MetaboHPT has been great, also bought a framing nailer which has also been fantastic. Just dont forget to oil each use for pneumatic!
