Not sure you'll need a lot of storage space if you do the one things these sticks are most best at.

I prefer AppleTV, but I also needed one of these to watch Blu-Ray rips with full surround sound. I use my AppleTV for everything else, but AppleTV does not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X. You can set up Kodi on these, and they play Blu-Ray rips great. The previous version of the Fires Stick Max did not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X. You need the newest version. Although it has nothing to do with supporting Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X, you can distinguish the newest version of the Fire Stick Max because it also supports Wifi-Fi 6E.

Thanks OP. Coupon code didn't work for me, but product page had link to activate offer for 30% off using Amex points so turned out slick anyway.

I went from all firesticks to all google chromecast TVs/onn 4k pros. But learning now that both of those do not support all audio formats like the firestick 4k max. Really annoying the little handicaps every option seems to have.

A past fanboy, or should I say no longer a fan boy, I can say this is the only firestick I would buy. 16gb is stupid ass low in 2025. These things have been around since what 2015? and it was 8gb then and now it is 10yrs later only to double it? Moore's law guys double it every 18 months! 10yrs on a stick is nothing to be proud of.

Also Vega OS is said to be coming. I doubt any already issued fire os device will be upgraded, but imagine if they do. The NIB, never used devices might be valuable at some point if we can prevent a update at some future point. This uncertainty of Vega and app conformity might kill the fire devices completely.
.

If you do not want or need the Alexa ethos, continue at your own peril. Unless the new OS brings new features (better IOT integration on a new os? ) the new Vega OS is designed to only to stop side loading, so you might as well jump ship now and vote with your feet. . If the hardware is the best they want to license, I think they might see huge shift FROM Amerzon to the other 3 tv OS or keep the original android from the original source.

The google ethos is cheap at Walmart every day of the week and no one is killing it yet.

Got it w/o a code recently for the same price, minus $3 for trading in an old Fire stick I'd never use again, and another $3 for another old stick. We needed a new Fire stick anyway to replace one that stopped working. Worth it at this price IMO, although I'm using it on my 27" PC monitor, which since it's not a TV I can't use the Fire remote's volume and mute buttons to control the sound, unless I install an IR remote on my PC, which seems like too much of a bother.

Will not buy a fire tv stick. Bought 3 in the past decade, bloatware slowed down the system significantly over the years and became unusable, despite turning off all the settings. Switched to Google TV, zero issues 3 years now.
