Did you try this tea?

Tea grown in Madagascar is green tea. There are no lions in Madagascar. Nor zebras, elephants, giraffes... Rooibos is grown in the south-west of Africa, Madagascar is the island to the south-east. Looking at this I'm cringing like a cat offered lemon...

nope...but i am a fan of other flavors of celestial seasonings (fruit flavors, mostly) and this brand typically costs a lot more

edit: i imagine the implication is that it is flavored with madagascar vanilla, not necessarily grown there but with these marketing teams you never know

And of course you will get not 6 boxes, but one and will have to call amazon to get the charge refunded. All that for "madagascar vanilla rooibos" (dry heaving)

there was a price drop so it is considered a new deal and not a repost. thanks for sharing the original

as an aside, people in that thread reported receiving the listed 6 so it's likely that happens now, too

Well that's just not true at all. I saw a movie once and there was definitely a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, and a hippo in Madagascar. There were even some penguins!

This is an herbal tea.
Rooibos tea is from Aspalathus linearis..
Regular tea is from Camellia sinensis, which has caffeine.

I find it's pretty good. I received 6 boxes as it was listed from the other post.

But what hype calling it Madagascar vanilla when there's no taste of vanilla at all much less some fancy premium vanilla. this is about $10 per pound. you could get a better tasting Roy bus for that price if you buy in bulk. To get the maximum antioxidants and full flavor, it's best to simmer on low for 10 minutes anyway.

I called celestial seasonings about two months ago and the customer service rep confirmed they use plastics in making their tea bags. Just a heads-up for those that might be interested.

WTH manner of stupidity is that! There's no indication on their packages and it even looks like natural unbleached teabags! What an idiotic untrustworthy practice and company!
"Your cup of tea might contain 11 billion microplastic particles and this is due to the way the tea bag is engineered. It all started with a 2019 Canadian study at McGill University (1) published in the Environmental Science & Technology Journal, which stated that steeping a plastic tea bag at a brewing temperature of 95°C releases around 11.6 billion microplastics and 3.1 billion nanoplastics into a single cup…Compared to salt, for example, which has been also found to contain plastic, each cup contains thousands of times the greater mass of plastic, at 16 micrograms per cup"
'' Researchers found that the tea bags made with PP (used to heat seal the bags and keep them sealed while in hot water) released about 1.2 billion small pieces of plastic per milliliter (.034 fluid ounces! )of tea, while bags made with nylon-6 released 8.2 million nano-range (extremely tiny) plastic particles per milliliter, and those made with cellulose released 135 million particles per milliliter"….
…CS "pillow tea bags (i.e. tea bags without strings, tags, staples, or foil envelopes) have 'food-grade' polypropylene plastic fibers, are manufactured through a totally chlorine-free (TCF) whitening process, meaning that no dioxin is released into the environment."
—oh great, no dioxin but a Tea full of plastics!
