I believe previous deal 50% off of was applicable to mid tear $55 plan only and when you activate minimum 2 lines. In this deal even one line is also eligible for 50% discount.

Data prioritization policies of the carriers and the MVNOs that use their networks

Verizon

Verizon uses 3 QCI classes – 7, 8, and 9.

QCI 7 is reserved exclusively for Verizon Frontline customers so this priority level may as well not exist for those of us who aren't first responders.

QCI 8 is given to the business Plus 5G, business Pro 5G, consumer postpaid plans (other than Welcome Unlimited), all of Xfinity Mobile's plans, all of Spectrum Mobile's plans, Lexvor, and MobileX. US Mobile's Warp 5G SIM offers QCI 8 data on 5G devices only. Visible+ has QCI 8 as well until 50GB of LTE/5G Nationwide data is used (5G UW is unlimited QCI 8). Total Wireless' Total 5G Unlimited and Total 5G+ Unlimited plans have unlimited priority data included.

QCI 9 goes to everything else. The Start 5G business plan, branded prepaid besides the Unlimited Plus plan, Visible's base plan, US Mobile Warp 5G when on an LTE only device, Mobi, and all other prepaid companies that use Verizon's network are known to assigned to this QCI. Anyone who uses their premium data bucket on Verizon's brands will be moved to QCI 9.

AT&T

AT&T uses QCI 6, 7, 8, and 9.

QCI 6 is reserved for FirstNet customers (with primary status), Business Unlimited Premium (only data that qualifies for Business Fast Track, the rest is QCI 7), and some corporate responsibility plans.

QCI 7 is assigned to Business Unlimited Premium as well as Unlimited Premium PL, Unlimited Extra EL, and AT&T Prepaid Unlimited Max Plus customers who pay $7 for AT&T Turbo. FirstNet extended primary plans get QCI 7 as well.

QCI 8 is assigned to Business Unlimited Advanced, Unlimited Extra EL, Unlimited Premium PL, Prepaid Unlimited Max, Prepaid Unlimited Max Plus, Cricket More, as well as plans offered by H2o, Consumer Cellular, and PureTalk. US Mobile's Dark Star offering has an addon to bump it to QCI 8 from QCI 9.

QCI 9 is assigned to Business Unlimited Starter, the base Unlimited plans for both the postpaid and AT&T Prepaid brands, Cricket Core, other known MVNOs, and all AT&T brands once their premium data buckets have been exhausted.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile uses QCI 6, 7, and 9 for phone plans.

QCI 6 goes to all branded plans, both postpaid and prepaid, besides those with Essentials in the name. Google Fi has QCI 6 as well.

QCI 7 is applied to Essentials branded plans as well as all other known MVNOs.

QCI 8 is not used for phone plans, it's used for on device hotspot and for data only plans with 30GB of more data.

QCI 9 is for those who have exhausted the data in their buckets. T-Mobile's Mobile Internet 30GB plan is also QCI 9.

· Other TracFone brands are up in the air. I have gotten reports of priority data (and seen it myself on SafeLink, a TracFone brand) but I've also gotten reports of deprioritized data, complete with screenshots. It seems to be random what people get so if you absolutely require priority data, it might be best to look outside of the TracFone brands.

This is difficult to read. Did it look weird for everyone or just me?

I've had TW for the last 5 yrs. I'm on their legacy plan for $58 for 2 lines, and I'm leaving this month.

I've never had issues with TW before except the app no longer works for me and there was some weirdness when they switched to these new plans. But no real problems.

But for the past 2 months, auto pay hasn't been working (I didn't know) and 2 months in a row they disconnected my service for non payment - even while sending me texts confirming autopayment would to through in a few days. Each agent claims to fix the problem, but after a second month of disconnected service, I have zero hope that I won't go through this yet again next month. So I'm leaving.

I've submitted several tickets and have cumulatively waited several hours trying to straighten this out.

Long story short, due to a "glitch" they haven't been able to fix the auto pay problem (fine, at least THIS month I know to manually pay instead of waking up to no service for God knows how long). But in manually processing the payment last month the agent accidentally double charged me unbeknownst to me. A month later when my phone was again disconnected for non-payment, I noticed the overpayment and saw a so-called refund for a portion of the overpayment, but the "refund" actually turned out to be yet another charge that I now have to explain and have reinvestigated every time I call for the credit for being double billed last month. They all say, you already got a refund for being doubled billed, we see it here, and I have to insist that they look in a different part of their system to see what they labeled as a refund is actually yet another charge!

I'm just frustrated with how they have handled this, and the inability to prevent my phone from being disconnected on a monthly basis. So I'm leaving. Only came on here to see if there might be discussion about other carriers. Considering T-Mobile or visible. Would be interested to hear the experiences of others on these carriers.

As someone who's been on Total Wireless for about 4 months now, I can tell you its a good deal IF, and that's a Big IF, you can get their service running and billing properly for you. But many, many people cannot get to that point and call it a day which is probably why they're still advertising at a steep discount. I can tell you that every time my monthly billing date comes around, I keep wondering if I'll still have a service past my billing date by the time TW is done with it. Either the Disney promo will be gone, or you'll get charged twice as much as you should have, or you're removed from their promo entirely. They are that much of a mess!! However, if you can get it working consistently for you, I think it is a very good deal at no contract, $30/mo, locked in for several years.

If you're considering this I'd check out some threads for Total Wireless on Reddit (Total wireless Official is a good one to read through). If Verizon works for you where you live, don't worry about the network, it'll be irrelevant. I've gotten speeds over 3400 mbps on 5GUW on their system with an Android phone with this TW deal. I'm over 100 gb for monthly usage with no warnings or complaint.

You can get a feel for the consistent problems many people have had (like the poster above) with billing, Disney, and their promo pricing over on Reddit, and then decide if you care to roll the dice. They are definitely not for the faint of heart or impatient.

Nope, that is incorrect. I'm on TW and the previous deal is basically the same as this current ad for them. Back last December I got the 5G+ plan for a single line, which at full price is $65/mo and is their most premium plan available. They did it at 50% off plus an add'l $5 off for autopay, so I'm paying $30/mo, single line. I left another comment earlier that discusses TW further. Long and short of it, it's a good deal but an extremely 'iffy' company to deal with and many people try due to this pricing, only to leave shortly after beginning.

Stay with cricket if your area is ATT strong. Can't beat the 4/100 deal and use discounted cricket prepaid cards to pay. Drops the average close to 20 dollars per line.
