If you like a more realistic but great color, go with LG. If you like a more vibrant vivid color that pops, go with Samsung. You may want to go see the TVs in person at a Best buy or Walmart. I prefer the more vibrant samsung.

Here's what rtings says:
"The Samsung S85D is an excellent TV overall, but it doesn't really have anything special about it. Unlike the QD-OLED versions of the Samsung S90D/S90DD OLED and the flagship Samsung S95D OLED, the TV uses a traditional WOLED panel, so you don't get the same color vibrancy of those TVs. It's most comparable to a TV like LG's entry-level LG B4 OLED, but it's not as bright in HDR, and it loses a lot of peak brightness in HDR while using Game Mode. On top of that, the B4 has much better accuracy and more effective low-quality content smoothing, and it supports Dolby Vision and DTS audio passthrough. Since both TVs are similarly priced, the LG B4 OLED is the better choice for almost anyone."

Still isn't the S90D 83" only WOLED as well?

Curious how those panels compare as I don't think there are 83" S90D specific review that examine brightness for comparison.

for that price, if i didnt already owned a samsung OLED, i would inmediately jump on this one. i paid 1400 for a 65 inch back in 2022. if i had someone that would pay me 1000 for it today, i would sell it and buy this one.
the only main drawback on samsungs today are
1) their horrid interface - really hard to navigate, made confusing on purpose so they can show you ads while it takes you forever to jump from one app to another.
this can be solved if you just set it up to turn on on your prefered smart player or game console and use that interface as the main interface.
2) they shitty ass, non-responsive remotes (ive owned about 8 samsungs between home and my businesses, and all of them had horrid remotes) . this can be solved by just purchasing a smart remote or using the one that come with your preferred media center.
ive only had one LG, and it had the worst interface so far because it would automatically play ads with the sound on as you navigated the menu.
this was back in 2019 thoug. im not sure if they still do the same.
