Anyone who is a student, or works for a company that partners with LG, can create a Partner Store account. Same with Samsung and a lot of other places. Amazon employees, for example, can create an account by going to the partner store website and putting in their work email. If you're not sure if your employer is partnered with them, just try setting up an account, using your work email. LG will either approve you or they won't.

Yes its the QD-OLED version. However just found that c1 is giving 12% cb on this LG so it will net around $990. Is the samsung worth $300 more?

This brings up the reason why I would not buy from the partner store. Returns if you get a bad panel are almost impossible unless the thing is dead dead. Banding, tinting, etc., and they are like oh that's within tolerances. Doom on you sucka, basically. Spend a little more and get it from someplace else IMO. WOLEDs have a lot of inconsistencies with production of the panel and you should protect yourself from possibly being stuck with a lemon. Worst thing is to spend that kind of money and not be happy with the results.
