Normal sale price is around $80 since around March. This is the lowest drop from what I can tell at least on Amazon.

I really like my asus routers. I use 2 for mesh with a wired backhaul and they're great. More freedom than a basic mesh system from TP link and Google, for better and worse.

I have an ASUS RT-AX56U and basically mine has double the memory and storage but the AX57 has a 1.7ghz cpu but mine has 1.5ghz. The 2.4ghz channels bandwidth is the same. It's only on the super fast wifi 6 channels on 5ghz where you see the faster speeds. Meh. Most people won't ever use that. In fact I have some older HP printers that I will never give up and they don't play nicely with Wi-Fi 6 so routers wifi 6 is disabled.

as a previous victim to netgear, Asus has been nothing but solid performer. solid connection, route just feel solid. UI are extremely easy to use and no netgear BS or whatever sub fee they ask for. depends what you need for parental control, block certain app or internet hours its all built in

How does this compare to the TP-Link Archer AX21 AX1800 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit Router deal for $50 from Amazon? Is it worth the $19 price difference for 500Mbps download service and about 20 devices?

STAY AWAY.
Asus AX3000 is the worst I've ever bought. I setup two of these in mesh mode. All was working fine until the newest firmware update dropped. I started getting dropped packets all the time.
I reverted to the old firmware and it works fine now but now my router is vulnerable and I'm out over 200 bucks.
Their support didn't help. Asked me to install the newest firmware again, which broke it and then they were clueless.

I had problems with my Netgear router/modem the last several years before I knew about the chip issue. I purchased an Asus RT-AX1800S back in 2023. I turned off the Wi-Fi on the Netgear and use it only as a modem with the Asus router. Problem solved and I have been very pleased with it.

incorrect. The ax3000 is the same hardware as the ax58u. AX58u is just the "best buy exclusive" model, and you can flash the same merlin to either.

Incorrect. The AX3000 and the AX58u are the same hardware, the 58u is just the "Bestbuy Exclusive" model. You can flash the same Merlin build to either and they will work the same, because it's the exact same guts inside
