I don't know if these D cells are in particular but in my experience with AA and AAA the Duracell's last way longer than generics. I'll put generics in things that don't get much use and real brands in my tv remote.

Perfect timing. Needed fresh D cells for my camping fans and it's almost summertime!

Beware of Duracell batteries. I've had multiple devices ruined when the AA or AAA versions leak and corrode. Some I was able to restore with vinegar but other devices were corroded beyond repair.

Same. I refuse to buy Duracells now due to the higher relative likelihood of leaks compared to other brands

Yep, I stopped buying Duraleak after even their newest line still leak.

I've commented in the past, and i strongly recommend that you use energizer primary lithium AA and AAA batteries exclusively. Unlike all other disposable batteries, they won't leak and provide longer life and longer shelf life. Those are the only ones I buy now, after having numerous items ruined by leaks.
