The recovery service also can't do anything if the platters are scratched. For example, if the HHD tips over while running, this can easily happen. So don't rely on this service, it doesn't replace a backup.
I shucked my 18tb. Other threads discuss how or watch YouTube. The side that opened on mine was different than the video I watched.

That's pretty nuts. Use to have to pay a premium for the highest capacity and then -2TB of that would be in the $15/TB
