they're hit or miss. I've had 3, 2 large and 1 small, 2 have lasted, 1 large one acts kinda funky

I've purchased 5 over the years: 3 replaced with double click issues after a few years, 2 going strong for 6 years now. For this price the ergonomics of it can't be beat for me personally, but it won't be for everyone.
I replaced the double click on mine which is easy to do via YouTube tutorials. Better for the environment too but I realize this isn't everyone's cup of tea.

The scroll wheel/center mouse button broke, but otherwise it continues to work fine years after purchasing.
Pro tip - consider an application like X-Mouse Button Control to remap the side buttons to commonly used shortcuts. I had mine mapped to "add bookmark" and "go to bookmark" in Visual Studio. Nice productivity boost.
On Windows, login is not mandatory. You can simply choose "Guest". The software is not mandatory either. There's a fully featured, open sourced, software for it on Linux.
Worst case scenario, you can install the Windows software, set up the mouse, and then fully uninstall it. The settings save on the mouse.
I adore the ergonomics of Razer mice but indeed over the years their quality control eventually lost me as a customer.
From what I can see, this is an older model, with flaws that were assumedly fixed in the v2. The v2 mini also has a 33% more accurate sensor (DPI).
I wouldn't say I'm gentle with peripherals, but I wouldn't say I'm very rough with them either. Regardless 4+ yrs of everyday use is pretty good for a sub-$20 mouse.
