It's also a good gift for anyone who has played any valve properties but hadn't tried the original half life series

The only reason I bought it was because of the Slickdealers saying how good of a game and price it was and that it wouldn't go any lower.
Black Mesa is awesome BTW. You are somehow playing a brand new game but completely the same game as the OG at the same time. Witchcraft.

Yep, $4.99 on Dec 24, 2021 and still have not played game number 562 in my Steam Backlog (TM). LMAO.
Just pouring money down the drain.

Yeah, there are reports on the various gaming news sites about HL3 being fully playable end-to-end
"Black Mesa is a third-party remake of Half Life made in the Source Engine, not made by Valve. It is a completely different game from Half Life: Source, which can be mostly described as "HL1 with Source physics" with some minor improvements. Black Mesa was remade from the ground up, and more-or-less intended to feel like what HL1 would be like if it was made in a more modern engine."

Wiki says while most of the general design and progress through the game levels remains the same as Half-Life, the largest change in Black Mesa is the reworking of the game's final chapter, Xen, which was generally considered the weakest part of the original game.

And another example of why Valve > Nintendo. Nintendo would have sued the remake's devs out of the solar system while Valve wholeheartedly supported the fan project.
