40 watt gpu. Doesn't make this so good.
It's actually not as bad a videocard as people make it out to be for laptops. According to LAPTOPMEDIA.COM, the 45W RTX 4060 gets a 3DMark Time Spy score around 7,400. Greater performance than a 90W 3060 and a 65W 4050. Very close to a 90W 4050, in fact. And, I'm certain with less WATTAGE, there is less HEAT on the laptop. You tell me if a $650 gaming laptop for 1080p games with UPGRADABLE RAM is worth it?

I canceled my order after reading the previous threads regarding this deal. Guess it's not quite amazing thing I've been hoping for.

Isn't this the 45w version of this card? If that's the case, I see chatter online about this being even weaker than a 4050

How would this compare to Ryzen with 760m or 780m if concerns are heat and battery life?
According to that laptopmedia website, the 780m only gets around a 2,628 in 3DMark's Time Spy benchmark. That's much less capability than the 45W 4060 featured here (7,400).
However, I'd say being that the 780m is an iGPU (built into the CPU/APU architecture at 4nm), you would probably have greater battery life on that AMD laptop on average... HOWEVER, it'd be based on so many factors what laptop would give you greater battery life over another.

By the way, I just saw that Best buy has the same laptop at the same price. In the bad news department, I just read this: "The MSI Thin 15 B13VF-2829US gaming laptop features a 15.6-inch FHD (1920x1080) display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 280 nits brightness."

No way I'd pay $650 plus tax for a 280 nit screen.

Link? The one I saw had a 4050 while this one has a 4060.

Not bad, but the 512GB SSD will need to be upgraded so not sure it is worth the hassle vs getting something else.

I have this thing and I hate it. The m2 is severely throttled in addition to GPU the initial setup and all updates took forever and the laptop ran like garbage. This this is getting returned.

Just saw this in store. It's well built honestly but if your looking for higher end budget

I love my acer Helios predator for $999 from Walmart cause I know they put some money into it. This honestly caught my eye. If the i9 32gb helio neo 14 was $1299.99 or less I'd go for it.

Never had a laptop with an Nvidia GPU, wouldn't you be able to change the power/wattage with afterburner?

you're right about the 4050 vs 4060, my mistake. but my nits concern stands, unless someone else knows differently.

This is definitely a "looks better on paper than in reality" type of machine. 4060 limited to 45w, a less than stellar screen, and no Thunderbolt or USB-4. The USB-C port is an old style 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) w/ DisplayPort 1.4 alt-mode. Way less throughput than Thunderbolt's 40 Gbps. Highly doubt it supports MST for multiple monitors over USB-C/DP either.
