Have you seen how ridiculously large the sewn-on label is? You'll be cutting off each and every one of them. Pass.

Will they scratch cars? What if I wanna just use them when I need to wipe off my windshield? Are they microfiber good enough for a computer monitor?

Lower GSM (around 200-300) cloths, such as those from OP, are good for general cleaning and window washing, while higher GSM (500-700+) are better for drying and polishing. In addition, these cloths all come with sewn-on tags. Make sure you tear off every one of them, or the tags will scratch the car paint.

Just for clarity for people they can be use on the interior non shiny reflective surfaces. Good for dash bad for chrome door handles or shifter, good for radio screen bad for chrome volume knobs obviously good for glass. Can confirm it scratches the paint.

The green/gray/pink option was just 40c more. I got those instead. Figured white cleaning cloths will look bad even after washing.

Where do you even get this GSM value? I bought the Kirkland ones from Costco, safe for car paint yet have no information on GSM value

So I asked ChatGPT what this was. It has to do with the grams per square meter. So the Amazon listing says it's .76KG for 24 pack and asked it to help me figure it out. It did a bunch of maths and it says these towels are rated for 256 GSM each

Only premium rags would have the information of GSM. For high-end rags for car detailing, try theragcompany.com/ [theragcompany.com].

To choose the right microfiber cloth for your car, consider its GSM (grams per square meter) and pile height. A higher GSM indicates a thicker, softer cloth, which is ideal for delicate surfaces like paint or for drying. A medium pile height is good for general cleaning and buffing, while a high pile is excellent for drying.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

GSM:
200-300 GSM: Good for glass and light cleaning.
350-500 GSM: Versatile for interiors, sprays, and general cleaning.
500-600 GSM: Ideal for delicate tasks like polishing, waxing, and drying.
600-700 GSM: High-quality, soft, and perfect for delicate surfaces.

Pile Height:
Medium Pile: Good for general cleaning, wiping windows, and removing fingerprints.
High Pile: Excellent for drying, absorbs lots of water, and provides a streak-free finish.

Other factors:
Edges: Look for laser-cut edges, which prevent fraying and reduce the risk of scratches.
Specific Uses: Consider the type of task you'll be doing (e.g., paintwork, glass, interiors) and choose a cloth accordingly.
Quality: Choose high-quality microfiber with split fibers for better cleaning efficiency.
