I was at my local Home Depot (St. Peters MO, 63304) today and noticed the DW734 planer on the shelf had a yellow label with a price of $222. The online price is $528.99. It came home with me. YMMV

Shelf label and receipt pics attached.

This is an absurdly good price for this. If I didn't already have one I'd be scooping one here (If you can find one for this price)

Yes, An excellent price. thank you for sharing your good fortune, However, This does not seem to be a system wide sale. if you believe it is how does one utilize this deal if they're not in Saint Petersburg, Missouri? It's 599 at my Home Depot in NY. Definitely appears to be a mistake in this particular store, especially since the tag says was 247. ??
Even though I already have one if I could find it this price, I would purchase it and set up a sequence of two to get the job done quicker,

Doesn't look to be sold in stores near me. Incredible deal if you can find it.

Online shows 528. I'm going to head to the local HD to see if it shows 222.

This is a good planer, but for most woodworkers the next model up has two speeds and is really the one to get on sale. Where this model shines is if the electrical in your shop is on the older side. The next model up uses a lot of power but does a better job and your more likely to find helix heads for up.

if your buying this just because it's cheap and $200, there is a good chance it's going to sit and not get used a lot. Anyone that pictures themselves really planing a lot of rough lumber should get the next model up.

If I had to do it again, I would have paid more for the next model, not because this one doesnt work well, just because the other one is a better long term tool you wont out grow.

Probably in store only. None of my HD has it on clearance.

What's crazy is that I see 599! I'm in Cali though. That's a big spread.

Curious if this was a return or not. These don't appear to be stocked anywhere around me personally.

That was my first thought as well when I saw the price, but it's not. The box is completely sealed and still has the thick outer plastic wrap on it with the shipping labels to the Home Depot distribution center in Monroe OH.

Very likely this is THAT store only price. HD has store dependent pricing, and managers are free to mark items down as needed to move items.

The chance of finding that price on the site is slim/none and the chance of finding it in multiple stores is also slim/none. Worth checking, but not worth driving a distance to "see".
