You're sure it was the OLED version? I've seen it dip to the 8s, but never in the 500s..

I've been waiting for a month or two, haven't seen it get much better than this. Costco has 90 return on electronics so if it does go on sale, can return. I also used credit card and executive account which I think reduces it effectively by 5%.

One of my 9 year old monitors backlight busted, so decided to suck it up and buy this.

The OLED model? You sure it wasn't the non-OLED panel?

Also, noticed based on the part number this is the 2022 model, not the new one, since it has the 91 in the model number. LS49DG91DSNXZA

This is a good deal, I bought mine for $997 with tax after stacking some codes, but it came with a 27" Odyssey G55C QHD 165Hz monitor for free so it made it a bit slicker for me. But 800 just stand alone is good, I'm happy with it the resolution is great, I haven't had a monitor/desktop set up for awhile so I'm happy with it.

Got this for $630 last year. Absolutely love this but my poor 4070 struggles when I try to full screen games.

Enticing if you're doing 100% gaming/multimedia on it, but from what I've read about text clarity issues with OLEDs, it's not ideal for productivity. I believe the newer display tech, mini-LED, resolves that issue, but is crazy expensive.

It was a dg91 for $570 around December I believe. It was on the front page, can't find it on iOS app but found it earlier on desktop. Good to know, I'll have to compare the difference between this and a newer year model and decide if I want to keep it or not.

So I checked and the newer g95 vs the g91 has speakers, smart tv function (tinzen with Netflix and stuff), RGB LEDs I believe, matte coating and higher refresh. The higher refresh and matte coating are nice, but I can live without the rest so long as the panel is the same. My Samsung smart TV OS takes seconds to load and has an audio pass thru glitch, and has forced ads they added as an update. Not sure if the g95 has that but I'm ok with a 'dumb' monitor. All said it's good to know the differences and see what's important to any individual.

The vocabulary word of the day: tariffs.

Lets use it in a sentence; You might be waiting a while for this to get much lower in price unless the tariffs disappear or Samsung moves their factory on this side of the pond in the next few days / weeks.

What type of games do you play on this type of screen?

Any that support it really. Fromsoft games have a mod that works great, and a lot of newer games support the aspect ratio out of the box nowadays.

I have one similar from EDU but what I HATE is I can not directly plug my USB into my laptop and charge it and display. With a machine this monstrous I find this ridiculous. Everything else had been cool 😎
