Not a scam. Tmobile used to give out free lines (per reports) more frequently and with less restrictions.
Rep denied there was a current free line promotion. So extremely YMMV. From what he said (and others posted) seems like a shift to accounts at least 5 years old and few to no free lines on account.

I called and my account don't have this offer. Maybe because I already got 2 free lines from them in the past.

They told me I could only have 2 free lines last month. You got 3 free lines now?

I have 6 lines that I have had for over 5 years and pay only $96 per month. That is all in with taxes. And this was all due to free line offers that I accumulated over the years. I hope t-mobile honors this offer forever because I also get Netflix for free.
