literally says SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL on the back of the watch.
Back when I ditched my Apple Watch I did lots of research on automatics. I like the concept.

And anyways, then I concluded Timex did an amazing value on this line. Spending $500+ was a non starter though, that's part of the reason I ditched my Apple Watch was the constant $400ish refresh cycles.

Joma has it for $197 with code DWCT10: https://www.jomashop.com/timex-ex...54000.html

Where??? On AliExpress? You can't even find a Citizen in titanium for this price and they manufacture the movement.
While I'm not the person that posted it, yes there are better deals on AliExpress / China brand watches that use the same or better movement and titanium for less money. At the $200 price point you can get a much more impressive watch. BUT it lacks the Timex brand value and what I can only assume would be better service for a repair within a warranty period if needed.

I'd say this is an ok price, but as for my personal preference - I'd get what I'd consider to be a better piece for the same /similar money from Ali or Watchdives. https://watchdives.com/collection...f=s9c3q5q0

The Miyota 8215 which this thing has is annoyingly noisy with the rotor, and I'm not sure if they have any batches that hack vs not hack (that movement used to not hack but there are now a couple variants of it) which is also annoying.

I also wouldn't necessarily be stuck on Ti on a piece like this. A watch without a bracelet doesn't weight all that much to begin with.

Warranty is only 1 year, routine service is $30 which is more affordable compared to tissot which is $150 for the same movement, factor those into your mental calculus. Not sure if amazon is an official AD but timex does have an amazon store. In warranty repair for the first year is $8 bucks.
Your TIMEX® watch is warrantied against manufacturing defects by Timex Group USA, Inc. for a period of ONE YEAR from the original purchase date. Timex and its worldwide affiliates will honor this International Warranty.

To obtain warranty service, return your watch to an authorized Timex repair center with a receipt for proof of purchase, clearly showing the date, item purchased, and the retailer from which the purchase was made.

Warranty service is only honored on watches purchased directly from authorized retailers. Second-hand or private sales will not be honored. In warranty repairs are at no charge; however, a handling fee will be charged.

For my sub 1k beater watch I personally am sporting a tissot prc200 (not the newer less beat 80), for sub 100 I am using the seiko 5 i snagged from SD in green nato. With my Samsung ultra I dont have enough arms for any new watches unless one of those break/needs an expensive service.

Tissot does not use Japanese movements. JFC there is so much bad information on the internet.

I have a Steeldive, Addiesdive and Pagani I got from Ali. All with the NH35 movement, all 40mm and all for less than $60/ea. They are an excellent value at the price point, look great and keep excellent time. How well regulated the movement is always is a crap shoot but the Pagani will lose a minute every 10 days which is incredibly accurate. Sure, it doesnt beat a Rolex at +/- 2 seconds a days but one can get 100 NH35 watches vs. a single Rolex.

Yep at the $60 price point all those brands make impressive watches. Move up to San Martin in the $200 range like this one is and you can get a ridiculously well finished piece.

The bracelets and clasp on the brands you mentioned are usually the place they really cut some corners. But hard to argue with the overall value and if it is a piece that can work with other straps it can be a great deal.

Also check out Militado in that $60ish range. I've got a couple that are well done from them as well
