There are way too many complaints for these regarding the adhesive pads being weak and unreliable! They seem to either not adhere well initially or come loose too quickly. Not a good deal if you keep having to discard and replace them!

4.5 on Amazon reviews... plus it's common for people to complain about stuff like this after they open the box, stick a few on the wall, and then whine that it doesn't work (instead of following the actual directions)

Iagree Never has been an issue for me. Read the instructions, not what the ass-clowns say after they don't read them.

You aren't going to find a better adhesive out there than 3M. People complain about everything.

These are probably good enough for most people. I bought the 5/8" 60pk to put outside on my gutters. I used them to hold my icicle style lights (the vertical hanging part) so that the wind wouldn't flip them over the gutters and onto the roof. Since they're clear they shouldn't be noticeable. I took the lights down in the spring and they're still sticking up the gutter. We'll see if they're still sticking when I put up the lights in the fall after going through a hot summer with lots of sun.

These bigger ones are probably more for cables inside the house, so hopefully the adhesive is good enough to hold them.

No....actually, "people" don't complain about "everything". There is such a thing as counterfeit products with the "3M" mark on them. I've used such products, and it's a trashy adhesive (just like the one described by many for this product)! If this was an actual 3M product, then you would have a valid argument....but it's not! It's some obscure knock-off with some crappy adhesive masquerading as "3M". If that weren't the case, there wouldn't be so many 1&2 star reviews for this junk!

So, basically, you're going to discredit the many (I stopped reading at over 100) users who just like to whine about things! It just so happens that many of them followed the "directions" and they still didn't stick well or came off of the surface much too prematurely. It's not rocket science! They noted that they cleaned the surface with alcohol, pressed them in place for 30 seconds and let them sit for 24 hours (or longer in some cases). Regardless, they still managed to come loose! I had this same experience with another trashy knock-off product....clothing hooks that couldn't even support a dish towel! I followed the "directions" perfectly (and no, I'm not a whiny idiot!). These hooks (with the counterfeit 3M adhesive) lasted all of 2 days before falling off (an extremely clean, shiny, painted surface). So, yes, believe it or not, there is actual credibility to the numerous, similar complaints about this junk!

Insofar as the positive reviews are concerned.....if they're even legitimate, wanna bet that they're from users who impulsively submitted a review (after a day or two), believing just how great these things were? Then, when they fell off, their positive reviews remained posted?

Good tip!....it could even be the same exact item. Did you use them? If so, how long have they remained stuck to the surface (without coming away even slightly)? I'd much rather spend a couple of bucks on these (knowing that they may not last very long)!

Would have been nice to have these 25 years ago when I bought my house and ran speaker wires everywhere. Had to use wire tacks and those things are a PITA in corners or around door frames.

Computer wise... I'm fairly anal but not this anal. A little velcro gets me done. But I can see the appeal.

I use them to conceal cables under my standing desk. I only attached them to the painted metal frame under the desk top and so far they've been holding up well (~6 months)

I initially bought the 5/8 version and have since also gotten the 3/4 in both cases I've had good luck but have been careful to clean before hand give it the 24 hours before putting cables in it.

As someone who has made products in China for decades, just be aware that most of the adhesives are not actually 3m. I have no idea on this product but it is a common ploy.
