So like the description of all Acer refurbs, theses are likely refurbs as well, but without the typical 2 year refurb warranty from Acer, and instead simply a woot 90 day warranty?

"These are new condition, factory sealed, laptops. They are not listed with a manufacturer warranty because we pulled them from Amazon inventory and could not verify the warranty information".

Try reading your comment again and understand what it actually means.
If it's factory sealed and they're stating they're new, then these can't possibly be refurbs.

The refurbs Acer sells list them in factory sealed box in like new condition as well. Just trying to confirm. How could they not verify warranty information if they are new. That disclaimer, as well as showing a 90 day warranty, clearly offers and implies the possibility of "what you read is what you get".

No and it's a shame because most of these have 32 with the i9. Costco has this with 32 for $1400 but sold out

I should add you can get 32gb chips but need to solder it on yourself

So are we thinking these are refurbs or repackaged? Just curious because it's a good price for this setup.

Fair point. I think someone would have to go out on a limb, buy it and confirm.

Might be able to get a one year extension with credit card extended warranty. Haven't tried it on anything with 90 day warranty but if they're listed as new it should apply. Just be sure to save the description that says that they're new.

whenever you see "LP" prefix as the type of RAM, it is NOT upgradeable.

Refurbished means it left the custody of the original manufacturer, has been returned, and is being resold - it doesn't necessarily mean there has been refurbishment work done, it's a description of the chain of custody

I would hesitate to buy from Woot. Just bought a MacBook Pro advertised as new. It came with a completely dead battery. Shipping takes forever and return processing is also molasses slow.

The issue with woot is you dont know whether the item is actually being sold with Amazon as the vendor or a third party vendor. In my woot experience Amazon items ship crazy fast from woot using Amazon logistics for delivery and items are typically in the condition described.

Thid party vendor items through woot become apparent only after the shipping information is available from UPS etc and the company/sender is something other than woot/Amazon. Don't trust the return labels, most vendors put woot.com, but UPS knows the truth.

You can then do a BBB lookup on the listed company/vendor and will learn what's up.

That said the deal is solid enough and Amazon/ woot returns are easy enough that I wouldn't worry too much at all

Condition says "new". It is illegal to sell refurbished products listed as new condition.

I've heard that the warranty is questionable because Woot isn't an authorized dealer.

Acer sells refurbished laptops on their official eBay store and they come with a 2 year Square Trade warranty. I bought one around a month ago and it looks and works like brand new.
