This is a dual hose unit which is much better than a single hose unit
A single hose AC unit pushes air out the hose. But it has not way to pull in air from the outside. So the air conditioned space has a negative pressure (relatively to outside air pressure). This makes pushing hot air out through the hose less energy efficient.
The relatively negative pressure also causes hot air to leak into the home from outdoors.

Autobuy if it was new, but this is a refurb, so tread carefully. Normally being refurb shouldn't be a problem, it's just it would have demanded a deeper discount.

So $379 new vs $269 reconditioned. About a 27%~ savings. A good option if you have a costco nearby. The new unit comes with a 1 year warranty, so 9 more months than the reconditioned unit.

It cools a large bedroom (approx 400 sqft) with tall ceilings with ease.
Also, I was concerned that the evaporative water would need to be emptied regularly but it actually has a process that evaporates the water on its own so I've never needed to empty it.
Also don't forget to use "SAVETEN" coupon to save another 10%.
