I got the pro version of this. My cpu and gpu are barely utilized on the pro. The ram definitely made a difference for me.

I would strongly look at any software you are planning to run before spending extra on the max. It not only cost more but your battery will take a hit.

Give it a year, and your AI agents will have to fight for every single CPU tick they can get their virtual hands on.

LLM's will use that up for sure.

Does anyone know how ram usage compares in PC vs Mac with apps like Lightroom or programs like Final Cut / Davinici? I have 64gb on my PC laptop and a good % of it is regularly utilized with photo / video editing. Are macs typically 'efficient' or similar-ish in actual usage? It seems like MacOS has been less ram hungry than windows in the past, but it's not an easy topic to research without actually just buying it.

It's pretty much the same, as someone who is a professional photographer/videographer and edits on both platforms. 64gb on a Windows desktop/laptop will still be better than 48 on a Mac.

i have 36gb on M4Max studio and it is not enough for max upscaling in Topaz Gigapixel AI. however it is enough for large 400 megapixel pano stitching. My pc's 64gb is enough for upscaling to max.
