Is this as good as the older ones that you can't find any longer? I sold my house and left the hose. One of my biggest regrets. Hehe

Probably not as good. The ones you're referring to are made of rubber.

Most definitely not. The old rubber style are still made but will be more than this price

I remember getting those Sears rubber Craftsman hoses for $25 for 50ft and it still lasting me till this day.

I wouldn't buy anything else other than rubber hoses knowing how durable they are against the elements, and wear and tear.

The hexagonal ones from 10+ years ago were good. All the round ones I purchased, in the years leading up to the bankruptcy, blew out of their crimps within minutes. Nothing that a new end fitting doesn't fix, but the quality of their rubber hoses near the end got pretty bad.

Many years ago, SDers got all of the 50 & 75 foot rubber hoses they wanted for as little as $10 to $15, and I bought quite a number for family/friends.

My 15 year old rubber hose finally leaked after an Opossum (or squirrel, or coyote) chew on it. I end up getting some connectors and made 2 shorter hoses from it.

Polyurethane hose, big rubber grips over aluminum couplings ... sure smells like a black and red Flexzilla for the Die Hard brandname fans. EDIT: apparently Flexzilla is made in Taiwan instead of China?

HF has 20% niagra rubber hoses through this weekend with coupon:
https://www.harborfreight.com/coupons
After discount, the 50ft is $30, $56 for 100ft
They're 3/4" diameter as well which gives a little more flow than the typical 5/8"

My two are still going strong, but need to replace the gaskets as I now need to wrench them on. Really heavy though, so sometimes I long for those expanding hoses, but they don't last

I've had good luck with red silicone ones, but not everybody does (according to reviews.)

Rubber? For whatever reason, the description / specs doesn't say anything about the material used. Just the 'contractor grade' reference.

Anyone know how this compares to the Flexzilla for $30 or Harbor Freight Niagara for ~$26??

I left 3 (1x100' and 2x50') at a house I just sold as well. Thought I was done kicking myself but this thread re-opened the wound...
