I've had this machine for about 4 years. Has been pretty reliable. The only major catch with these systems is that the TDS goes down to 0-10 after about 1 min of operation compared to a traditional RO system where the water is always clean.

HOWEVER a huge issue with the waterdrop is the release of dichloromethane and xylene from the filter membrane due to manufacturing standards. No answer from water drop so best to avoid this brand. I'm trying to look for an alternative brand the replace this with.

Here is the YouTube video: https://youtu.be/Qpfnu-mZL3A
Slight counter to this (don't have any RO system but remember this controversy doing research), that filter issue apparently is only with the A1 series which is the instant hot water variant if I remember, the channel still recommends the regular waterdrop (the ones in this sale) as of 2 weeks ago from same channel

And waterdrop did engage with the youtube channel regarding testing, so its a little unfair to say there was no answer, may not be best result in the video

I've been on the fence about these systems, the sale is tempting.
It may be a dumb question but does this refurb include new "full capacity" filters? By my count the filters alone are 90$ so I just wanted to check that this didn't include some kind of lower capacity filter vs the retail replacements?

Waterdrop is based in China and is formally Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co.

On Amazon, the replacement costs more than the system but it's supposed to be good for 2 years.
I'd like something like this, but the refills at Whole Foods are fine for now. They have RO m, distilled and Alkaline options.

Don't do it. Waterdrop has god awful customer service. I had an issue with a unit that kept rumbling every few minutes and wasting water (water bill shot up), they didn't even bother to respond to multiple requests for support.

But if you email them about making a purchase, suddenly they remember you exist.

They sent me a new one after mine failed in a year. Their customer service is fine.
