This is an amazing indie game!! Command the crew of your spaceship, managing weapons, engines, shields, etc., diplomatic/combat dialogue scenarios, boarding crews, resource and ship management, navigating through sectors until you face a boss ship. Infinitely replayable. I'll probably be playing this game off and on all my life. It's a steal for this price. 84% metacritic score. ~60,000 reviews have it at Overwhelmingly Positive.

I've owned this game for many years and I do go back every so often. Even though I'm absolutely terrible at the game, its still a lot of fun!

I didn't realize that there are people that still don't own this game. At $2.50, you'll easily get your money's worth.

I've played it on PC, but it is great on the iPad mini. Wish this mod worked there. I'll have to try it for Steam.

This sounds like a nightmare, considering I bought this game over a decade ago and never could beat it.

Maybe it was bad rolls, but I don't recall ever getting past the first five encounters before the difficulty ramped up unreasonably.

I've always wanted to check this out but most games are not compatible with my MacBook. It looks like this will be compatible based on the purchase page on Steam. At $2.50 it's essentially free. I think this is less than a pack of gum.

Such a killer game. One of those "easy to learn, hard to master types".

For the 3 people or so who have never played and and are about to - you're gonna fail. A lot. It's ok. You'll learn. The first time you actually win, it feels amazing. And then you want to figure out how to win the other ways.

In fairness to some of the criticism - yes due to the random nature of it, some playthroughs are impossible.

Years ago i've played it and beat it (and the free sequel with the crystal race).

I see the fasterthanlight subdirectory on my desktop but how do i run it?
Do i need to log into steam 1st? (want to try the multi-verse mod)

omg, I was mostly joking (I had that feeling but searched my apps and steam and didn't see it but posted anyway).

Turns out I do own it but it wasn't showing up in App Store because it only works on iPads, not iPhones. 🤣

Hopefully it works ok on steam deck
