The plastic lids say "BPA free", but that doesn't mean anything. I don't know what Ball is doing, but sleazy mfgs (many/most) just substitute BPF and or BPS for the BPA. Yes, they're both harmful/toxic, and while substituting meets the letter of the law, it certainly does not the spirit of the law. IOW, you still get to eat endocrine disruptors,

Unless you see BPF-BPS free too, it's best to pass. I was about to get them a few days ago, but decided against it.

Ball is doing something odd. You can't get their stainless steel lids (you can get chinese ones, but..), you can't get their "regular" mouth wooden lids, and they're just limiting stock.

Not that anyone asked, but you can get the regular mouth wooden lids that say "mason" on them. Certainly more expensive that this deal (and this price has been there for weeks now).
A few months back, Dollar Tree had them for $1.25.

FWIW I got these a while ago when they first came out. They're not worth the $1.25 2freetacos mentioned getting them for at Dollar Tree EVEN if they came with 2 free ACTUAL tacos.

I wouldn't mind getting them as coasters for cups. They look really nice.

It's a very different lid since these just push on instead of twisting on. I feel like the twist-on ones don't always seal well. I have these wooden ones and I'm a big fan of how easy and quick they are. One negative to these is that since they don't twist on they are more likely to pop open from internal pressure or when they fall over, but I've never had that problem with mine.

The best use for these is if you are using Ball jars to store dry goods. Easy access, good aesthetics (aesthetics being subjective).

It's hard to get them on securely because air can't escape in order for the lid to seal all the way "down". I've tried a few twisting techniques as I push down and it seems to help.... But I don't think I'd trust these on jars that are curing your marijuana harvest shake head
