What sandwich are you getting that's 20$? they are like 12. What are you smoking.
The biggest price issue comes from the obvious comparison to places like Subway. Jersey Mike's is better, but in comparison? Much pricier.
Quick example is a roast beef sandwich - a 7" comes to $11.65 before tax. Anything you add is another $3-4 on top of that ($3.65 more to add pepperoni? $2.05 for more cheese? $3.05 for avocado?)
A 14" version of the same sub, no extras, is $19.85.
I live in the middle of nowhere, in a little hillbilly town in the middle of the desert.
$2 off is nice, but Subway (again, not the same) is always doing $5.99 footlongs and 3 for $15.
When you can get 3 footlongs for $15, saving $2 on a $12 7 inch sandwich just seems expensive.
That's why always max out on the Amex offers buying gift cards at JM with $5 off $15 multiple times each card. This way the sandwiches are much cheaper.

Where are you paying $20 for Jersey Mikes??? No idea why you have so many thumbs up.
Regular is $12.50 before tax, giant is $20 before tax.
I think that's steep for any sort of regular cold cut sub, but it's probably about what should be expected for the cheesesteaks.
A flat ~20% off offer would make it about right to me.
