Looks like an identical deal from March made the frontpage and got 5 thumbs up.

So probably a decent deal.

This is an insane deal. Comparable steering wheels are $300-500.

No, I think he's looking for the other kind of comments, comments about the brand name…

Good starter wheel. Warning, this is a deep rabbit hole to go down if you get semi serious about sim racing.

I love this wheel though I'm currently on a high-end Fanatec setup, this Thrustmaster is my second favorite. I like it a lot more than the Logitech G920/G29. The Thrustmaster was my first wheel. I thought I was upgrading to the Logitech based on its reputation but once I actually started using it, I was not happy.

It's been awhile since I used the Logitech and the Thrustmaster so I'm not going to remember the little details on why the Logitech is bad. But it centers around how the force feedback motor works. When you're put in a semi-rough environment like the offroading in Dirt or Forza Horizon, the feedback is kind of slow and doesn't feel right at all. You're going to easily lose control even when the conditions aren't crazy hard. Again, it's been too long so it's hard to think of very specific examples of how the wheel feels in specific situations. But I do remember the vibes. And I do remember that the Thrustmaster felt much better and allowed me to drive much faster and much more aggressively.

Is this better than the Logitech G923? I had that and returned it. Was completely disappointed how cheap it was. The pressure on the steering wheel was weak. I paid $300 and was expecting something better.

check facebook marketplace, logitech g29s with pedals and shifter are going for $100 to $150 usually, I paid $90 without a shifter... And regret not getting a shifter.

edit: sorry I didn't realize this is perhaps a better wheel than the logitechs. Still might be good advice if you are pinching pennies.

As someone who grew up driving stick and still does sometimes, having a set without a clutch would only be a stopgap

I haven't used the G923 but I think you'll be happy with the Thrustmaster. And it's hella cheap.

The Thrustmaster won't feel super premium. But it feels good in racing games and feels fairly precise.

Now for people new to wheels, you do have to tweak them. You have to tweak them for every game. Settings for Forza Horizon won't match settings for Dirt. Just spend half hour, hour getting the wheel to feel correct. If you're not of driving age yet, then it'll be harder to know but the rest of us, you know how steering is supposed to feel.

Check out your local Target. I came across a Logitech G923 on clearance for $119 brand new
They didn't even have them displayed, I just saw a yellow clearance sign at the electronic dept.
