For food, I prefer glass containers with plastic covers. This setup is more healthy or decreases plastic residues that are unhealthy. However, the containers with plastic bottoms & tops could be used to store other stuff like office stationary, art supplies, sewing stuff, & other non-food items.

Get the glass containers for leftovers or things you might microwave.

I use the plastic stuff for bulk storage of flower, sugar, etc.

I used to love these. I will say they hold up for quite a long time, so long as you don't heat them up for too long in the microwave. We've had our big set for a long time, but decided to switch to glass containers as ours have developed wear cracks now. But if you take care of them, they will last you a long time. We also switched to glass because I'm so over spaghetti sauce stains!
