Long-term use of diphenhydramine (brand name Benadryl) may be associated with an increased risk of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, particularly in older adults. Other potential long-term effects include cognitive impairment, memory problems, and anxiety. Additionally, some individuals may experience withdrawal symptoms when stopping diphenhydramine.
Just friendly FYI, stuff is cheap, but it slowly destroys your brain over time. Take Allegra or Fexofenadine instead, your brain will thank you.

What's the difference between this and Benadryl?

2 cents a pill for exactly the same thing as Benadryl. Beware that Rite Aid is bankrupted and is closing all their stores with some being converted to CVS so this product is likely residual items from their warehouse which I assume they are liquidating, but interesting to find it along with a few others on Amazon.

Good price but as others have said, it's just generic benadryl. If anything, the list price shows the true mark up chain drugstores put on products. No wonder they're hurting. By the way, why is this "extra strength"? It's just OTC generic benadryl that has been around forever. I'll take it for itching but I'd rather use a small amount of melatonin if I needed a sleep aid.

There is nothing "natural" about this. You should not be using a product like this daily. If you need it talk to your doctor about safer products with less long and short term side effects

With all this talk of this stuff causing dementia, how about Costco's Kirkland signature sleep aid pills, which have the same active ingredient as Unisom Sleeptabs. (doxylamine succinate : 25 mg) ?

As someone who was just scolded for asking SD for medical advice a quick Google search shows that yes Unisom carries the same risk as Benadryl
