At this price range, I would recommend Buffalo rice cookers with stainless steel pots. Constant teflon usage/exposure is no good. While the Zojirushi should not exceed temps that affect the coating, it will degrade over time into the rice. I believe there Zojirushi's that have ceramic coated or other pot materials.
Good unit, but non-ideal pot materials in this day an age.
I wonder if they sell better pots separately...
FYI for anybody reading

Q8: How long can I keep rice in my Zojirushi rice cooker using the keep warm feature?
A: The keep warm feature in our rice cookers is designed to keep cooked rice warm, fresh, and ready to serve and enjoy. However, we don't advise keeping rice in the keep warm setting longer than recommended in your instruction manual as we are not able to guarantee the freshness beyond that point. For most rice cookers, 12 hours is the maximum but check your instruction manual for the accurate recommended maximum time. For longer storage take a look at our blog for tips on how to store rice.

This rice cooker isn't just about the quality of rice. It's about features, and build quality.
First, it has a built in battery. It always keeps the time, even when unplugged.
One can also put rice and water into the machine, and set a timer. The rice will be done at that time.
The machine also keeps track of how long it's held rice with it's keep warm feature. Which, can be used for a long time.
Then there's the build quality. Everything is high quality, well thought out, and easy to clean.
Also, the retractable cord is outstanding. I wish all of my appliances had retractable cords.

It's a fantastic cooker albeit not an IH, but about as good as you can get in this price point. 300 is wildly expensive as a base price but honestly I've had mine now for 10 years and it works great still

I'm looking at the 5.5 cup since 10 cups seems huge both in the size of the cooker and amount of rice.

Had one of these for years. It's well worth the price.

Rice cookers are going to be communicating with ChatGPT soon, too cook your rice just the right way, aren't they?

Got the 5-cup back in January.. I use it a couple times a week, and it's never produced a bad batch of rice - it's easy, basically 'set it and forget it'.

Would buy again, and should've bought one years ago.

Thanks, I think read your comment in previous threads. Do you mind sharing which model of Buffalo do you suggest as an alternative to this?

What implication is there on the size difference between 5.5 and 10 cup? Can you make a lesser amount like 5 cups in the 10 cup? Or do you need to make a full batch?

I got one of these last time it works great. The best part about this machine is that you can leave the rice in it for a few days and it keeps it hot and ready to eat. No need to store the rice in your fridge. Just scoop some out and add your protein and toppings. Has an extended keep warm function. Rice never drys out stays moist easily for two or three days. Enough for two adults with two kids here.

This 10-cup model is cheaper than the 5 cup model.
