No. What you're thinking called a KVM switch. Actually, most monitor have multiple input so you may not even need that.

I bought this couple of weeks ago and now returned.

One, it's mainly for portability as this dock does not need an external power. If you don't need multiple monitors setup, not too many ports needed them this is good. For travel this works great as light in size and have basic ports

But as docking station for remote work this does not sufficient as this does not have more ports like multiple display ports, multiple USB a/x ports for other devices charging/ connecting to laptop.

Too bad, was looking for something reasonably inexpensive for the rare times I work from home. This fits everything I need (one monitor HDMI, one display port, laptop, two USB-A devices). It does say external power. Would that come from the USB-C port?

Still might jump on this because I work remotely maybe 10 full days a year and 20-30 nights for a few hours.

Reviews on Amazon are not good. Seems to be more trouble than it's worth even at the low price.

If I am understanding you correctly, I can take this and just plug it into my laptop and use it as a USB hub of sorts?

My Lenovo laptop can't charge via Thunderbolt/USB-C anyway, so I'm really looking for a portable dock to have a few more USB ports or an Ethernet RJ45 on occasion.

If your laptop doesn't have Thunderbolt, then an Anker hub might be a better choice

we need to input power source which is USB-C power. In my case, my Windows Laptop comes with USB-c Power cord

Power connection -> belkin dock ->laptop
all connections thru USB-C port only.

Again, in my few days of use and Belkin as brand - no issues with the quality or sturdyness of the dock. This is great if we given ports okay for you.

it seems fine for remote work, it supports two displays (one hdmi & one DisplayPort) and has Ethernet if needed. is your biggest issue that it only has 2 USB ports to connect other devices to?
