I've had these before and they were complete garbage. Would give wildly different readings each time, and only lasted a few months before the screen just died and didn't display anything anymore. Tried changing batteries and no luck

I have at least 7 of these and all are within 0.5psi of each other. I've only had to replace the batteries over the years. Maybe you got a dud.

Having these with regular alkaline batteries is not a good idea. This is something that's gonna sit year after year in a glove box or a drawer and then the batteries are gonna leak and corrode and then the whole thing just isn't gonna work. I would only get one if it had a lithium battery. But always have a mechanical one as a backup
