You only need a solar charge controller if you want to hook it straight to a battery. If you have something like a Bluetti, eco flow, or jackery, those have the charge controller built in so you don't need a charge controller. If you want to hook it directly to a car battery, you need a charge controller. But those are pretty cheap
Only if wired in parallel. For a series connection, just connect 1 positive cable to the negative cable from the other panel and then use the 2 remaining unconnected mc4 cables as if it was a single pair off of a single panel except twice the voltage and wattage of a single panel. A Y adapter is only needed if you want to wire them in parallel.
The end output will be the same whether series or parallel. if you had 4 panels total, you'll get much better performance with panel shading if you wire in parallel. With series you really have to be mindful of shade hitting any of your panels because even a smallish amount of shade on just 1 panel will severely impact the overall output of all 4 panels. With parallel wiring, 1 panel could be entirely shaded & you can still expect to get full power from your other 3.

Yes. I have two mounted under my truck rack. When clean they pull a little over 100 watts in direct sun with a tiny bit of surface area blocked, unfortunately not as much as I was hoping for but decent.

I have this and it is a great product. I can plug it right into my portable power stations with various differently-sized inputs. It is pretty compact too, so you can slide it behind a cabinet or onto a shelf.

True.. I was concerned about the input voltage myself before I upgraded power station that did higher voltage. But, the mc4 connectors are pretty cheap so either way unless you know one way is better?

So you can go directly from the panels to say a laptop & be OK?
