Cool dripper to collect for coffee nerds and a solid choice to travel with, but the heat loss with stainless kinda makes it a non-starter for daily use. Much better off using ceramic to maintain higher/more consistent temps throughout the brew.

Ceramic has thermal loss also. Should be preheating with hot water before adding grounds if you want to get all James Hoffman about it.

Of course every material has heat loss, but theres no question that SS conducts heat much much faster than ceramic.

I put my ceramic dripper on top of my kettle as the water boils to heat it with steam. Ceramic definitely does lose some heat, but all materials do and its the best option

I wouldn't be surprised if the ceramic has more thermal mass than the stainless due to wall thickness.
