I should have bought more of the 14tb for 110 last year. You can't go wrong with goharddrive though.

I'd like to go back to buying $80 12tb drives from them too, but sadly the past is the past.

I saw somebody else mention that servers/drives generally get decommissioned around the same time of year. If true, the higher prices right now are possibly just because supply is low and price will go down again soon when there's an influx of "new" drives.

EDIT:
It appears the last deals on 12tb's started June/July of last year and then got even lower in Aug/Sept/Oct

I haven't seen HDD deals for a while until the 10TB last week and then this one.

Is the carnival coming?

Just had a drive die. any deals on a 16 or lower? 18 is too big as it would be my parity and gives me no point in adding it lol

Also some brands were getting YouTube or other advertising mentions in videos

$11.11 per TB. The last frontpage deal for 10TB was $8.99 per TB.

Would this work to put in a enclosure to use as external storage?

How does the 1 year Allstate and the 5 year warranties work together? Is it first year through Allstate and then 4 more years through goHardDrive?

Thank you. I was pretty confident it is and realize it is kind of overkill but wasn't sure if there was something I wasn't thinking of.

I mean then you use your existing parity as the added data drive right?

correct but my exisiting parity is a 16tb so it uses the 18tb as the parity and 16 would be added to the array. I'm still losing the 2tb difference in drives
